Two Row Wampum Totem

Posted by | March 06, 2014 | Dining | No Comments

Here’s a sneak peek at our art totem! General Idea, along with dozens of other artists, designed, painted and delivered these 3 panel art totems to be displayed at this weekend’s Two Row Wampum Festival. This weekend marks the 400th anniversary of the treaty agreement between the Iroquoi Confederacy and the Dutch settlers which became the foundation for many subsequent treaties. Our friend and collaborator, Kalene Rivers, also one of the organizers of the festival, came up with the idea for the art totems, which will remain on display throughout the city of Beacon for a year following this weekend’s event.

**Our totem was sketched, scanned, divided, painted in photoshop, printed on vinyl, stretched over plywood panels and nailed to frames.
